Me.... @ 350 details
Aloha! My name is Monica. I am 24 years old and I’m a very simple, normal girl. (Except when I’m with my friends lol!)
I'm currently finishing up the 4th year of my TESS program... that is Teaching English to Spanish Speakers. So, yeah, I want to be an English teacher. I’m studying at the elementary level. Why? Well, for starters, I’ve always loved kids. There’s something about being near children that transforms you. I had to drop out of college for a while, and in that time I had the chance to work with kids. My 1st experience ever was with a Pre-Kindergarten group. It was the most gratifying experience!! I loved reading them stories, doing Arts & Crafts with them and all the sing-alongs, etc… I can summarize that experience with one word: TENDERNESS! Being with them put everything in perspective and it let me figure out if this was or not my calling. And in my case, it definitely was and still is! I now work with a tutoring group and I enjoy every second I spend with those kids and though it may sound strange, there is a sense of fulfillment in me when I can help them get good grades. Knowing that they not only respect you, but they also feel comfortable around me makes me fall in love with this career. I hope that I can take the PCMAS next year so I can OFFICIALLY become a teacher!
I can honestly admit that I don’t see writing as one of my talents. Actually, I don’t consider myself to be that creative and that is completely ironic considering the career I chose. So, unquestionably that is something I’m gonna have to work on since I will be working on the elementary level.
This is my first blog ever, so I hope I get the hang of it. I know the blog is for this class’s purposes but maybe this is the perfect opportunity for me to explore that creative side of me and let it flow. It may even attenuate the perfectionist in me and let go of my thoughts. I could benefit more from this writing experience, definitely!
Anyways, welcome to my blog... a preview of my thoughts. :-)
